I do love where I live. We get to experience the four seasons on an annual basis! This Winter has been especially memorable. Lots of snow...more coming overnight! Real cold nights, and the usual swirling winds. Have you ever noticed how in Winter the wind always seems to stay in your face?
The one thing I like about Winter? It must mean Summer is coming! The daylight hours are lengthening and this is giving me a charge! I managed a short 5Ker today. Super cold and windy...a real wetness in the air if you know what I mean....smells like snow! They are predicting another 3-6 inches over night.
I got some new Kayanos..the 17's. I'm waiting for dryer ground before I wear them:).
I hope you are well! Peace!

Winter Hill work
We had a snow storm!!! Only about 1-2 inches, but strong, cold winds!! I still hit the hills! I dressed warm...layers, comfortable and maneuverable, I never really got cold even though wind chill is around 4 degrees. The going was slower because I had to be extra careful. The road had ruts and mini-ravines so I had to slow down. Still did 14X .17 hills. 5.09 miles in 1:06. I'm thinking an easy run tomorrow for the sake of mileage base. Hope you are well! Peace!

Winter!
So yesterday I was able to minimize my amount of caloric intake until dessert!! Mom-in-law makes the best apple pie!!! Oh, and pumpkin, too!
Fortunately I was able to run 5.5 miles with 3.5 at MP. Feeling good! Hoping to go to track tomorrow and run some flat repeats! Have a great day!! Peace! Oh, btw...it's cold down here!!!!

I've got it BAD!!!
Nasty, nasty day today!! Snow first, then sleet, then cold drizzle. I finally got out of a meeting and off the stinkin' phone, got home and began to justify not running. However......I have a renewed spirit! Even though it's nasty, Sandy arrived home, I decided to hit it!
33 minutes outside running. I did 14 hill repeats! The hill is a nice secluded lane on my property that is 473.21 feet long, that's about 158 yards. Nearly a 1/10th.
I chugged the rises and jogged the descents. As I was on the downhill my neighbor drove by, they use the lane as an easement, she said, "You've got it bad if you have to exercise!" Interesting statement? I guess I do! My plan is to keep increasing 10% a week up to around 40 minutes a run then I'll add a run and cut the time. I'm taking it slow because I want to be stronger than ever for my next marathon. I feel like I've run the last three beat up! Today my body felt better than ever! Hope the weather is decent where you are...I long for the hot Summer, running while the katydids sing and the sun is low in the western sky, where you taste the salt and find yourself fully immersed in the joy of the run....hey...I can do that in the Winter, too....where the snow covers the ground, the cold rain soaks to your bone, and the Bluebirds are hunkered down four to a house! 33 minutes of running fun! Peace!

I'm out there---
Yep, these temps we are enduring are really unusual. They say it's been ten years since we've had such a cold snap. Ten years ago I was (unknowingly) in the last months of a three year every day running streak so I've run in these sub zero temps. Bundle up! Layers of cloths! Runners; We know how to layer! I couldn't resist the urge to go out today and run! Sun shinning, snow glistening, road calling...so I went and it was good! It's one of those days when you can see the shadow of your breath! That cold!! I explored! I played! I thought! Only two vehicles passed me. I love it! Hope you are doing well today! One really good thing to note? Every day means more daylight!! I love Summer! It's getting closer-Totals-3.01 miles. I am continuing to gradually increase miles, the body is in perpetual soreness; growing old ain't fun! Peace!
