Better than nothing?
Well at least I'm running....my pace speed is terrible and alarmingly slow? Seems I get slower everyday? The hope of breaking four hours in the marathon sure seems distant in my mind right now. I'd sure like to achieve that accomplishment. I think my problem has something to do with carrying too much extra weight. I know, I know, people say, "you don't need to lose weight!" Yet I remember when I ran best I was gaunt and thin....so I'm working at it....I ran 40 minutes today and ate about 60% of norm today. I am getting serious about this....please hold on Mark!! One of the foundational principles in being successful according to Coach Wooden is being "industrious". It means to work hard. I'm a believer in hard work. Regardless of the outcome if you did your best you will be satisfied! Peace!

Keep it up, you are doing great. Just make sure you enjoy your running and do the best you can. I'm sure you will get faster in time especially with the effort you give.
It IS better than nothing, anything is better than nothing! Like Tim set, I think you'll keep getting faster too.
You have never been afraid to work! One of these days your body will respond to it and I KNOW you have a sub-4 in you!
i get annoyed at the "but you don't need to lose weight" comments too... i think for the most part, us runners know we are not obese but that we could afford to tone up a little to run optimally!
one step, one bite, one day at a time!
Keep at it like I know you will. Your body will start responding to the changes and hard work.
