Recovery

Just an EZ recovery type run today. I'm not so tired as usual on Mondays. The temps warmed up today into the low eighties. Man it felt good! I enjoyed the sweat. I wonder if anyone else is dealing with perpetual soreness or it's just because of the age factor, but this marathon training is leaving me with constant soreness in the quads and lower abs. Not to mention the Achilles tendon issue. I remember years ago dealing with the same Achilles but it took much less time to heal. This is now going into month three!
My plan this week is to add a day and lessen the longest run distance. All depending on the injury. I really hope I can run a 10K this Saturday. 4.11 miles today. This weeks goal would be as many miles as possible!! Peace!

I've been having all kinds of aches and pains throughout marathon training. Sometimes I think it's just part of the deal.

Hope you feel better. Have a great week!

It does comes with the territory. If there was no pain when it comes to running, everybody would be doing it. Hope you feel better.

Our injury recovery rate is unbelievably similar and, yes, I too wonder how much age factors into this bout w/ achilles tendonitis. I hope the new Kayanos help. I'm still searching for the right shoe.

I just read some where that all the aches and pains are just part of running...if things keep reoccurring or getting worse, that's when we should worry. All I know is that I need more recovery days these days! Rest up!

I've had perpetual soreness the last few months, and I'm not running very many miles at all- less than 20 a week. I think running 3 marathons in a row took a toll on me. My Dr. also suggested that I wasn't getting enough calcium. I've been working on that the last two weeks and I think it is helping.Good luck. You'll feel better after the race.

So a perfect day to race! 60's, overcast, breezy. The field was small and club racers were sparse!   I was probably the only guy i...
