Progression..

  A nice little progression run today...9.4 miles in 90 minutes. Started at 10's finished at 9:20's.....feelin' good...gettin' lite! I'm down nearly 20 lbs over the last three months.
   My running is smooth and strong (for me) and the achillies are barely barking!
  So I am closing in on the HM Nov 23rd. It's been 19 months since I've raced! I'm itching to go! Hope you are well! Peace!

Resting...

  Yesterday I knocked off 16.2 miles in 2.5 hrs....I did 13 X 1 mile @ MP so I'm feeling like I'm in good shape. I received confirmation regarding my HM entry fee!...I rarely register early so I can cop-out...but this time I've got the $65 fee and the motel room booked....no backing out!
  I'd like to run a strong Half....like a 1:55 or better. I know I'm a year and a half older than when I ran my last one in 1:52.02, but my pacing is about the same as then...
  Today I rest and tomorrow a 90 minute run preferably a steady state run, with some rolling hills!
  Isn't it good when you can run!!!! Peace!!

Almost 40!?

  No, not my age! 40 was a long time ago! I am so grateful to have lived as long as I have! No, I am about to knock on a 40 mile week! It's been a long time!
  I did a 16.6 miler Monday with 13X1 miles @ MP (9:05's)....then a 9.4 progression run Wednesday, an easy 10K yesterday-puts me at 32.2 miles with 2 runs left!
  I am encouraged with how the achilles are responding.
 Well I sent off the registration form with the check....so I'm gonna race on the 23rd!
 I feel like I ought to be able to run within a time frame near my last 1/2-1:52+ I will go for it!

I'm running

I plan each run based on a specific time frame and purpose-this week is a cut down week. I need rest! I ran 90 minutes Monday with 7 miles at MP with 2 min rest intervals between each mile. Training MP pace.
   Tuesday is a rest day....today I will run a 90 minute "stamina" run. Similar to a steady state run training the body to run at a tempo faster than MP.
  Then on Thursday I run 1 hour easy, recovery type run, this is when I work on my mental acuity.....keenness of mind regarding form,etc....
  Friday and Saturday are pace days, fartlek, time trials....at least some HMP running.
Race November 23rd!  Just a half but still excited! Peace!

Doin' good!!

  It's been a long road back from the achilles problem, and it's not 100% yet, but I am running again! I've lost 13 pounds and hope to drop 5-6 more before my first race in over 18 months! I ran a 15 miler last week and felt fantastic!
   I am looking at a race in the middle of November....a little Half Marathon. I think about my blogger friends often. Hope you're well. Friend me on Facebook! Peace!

Fell

   So we call this season fall...well it fell! Nearly all the leaves are down and you can see much deeper into the woods. Time stops for no...
