Mud Rain

Strangest thing...... this morning the rain was mud!!??? A huge dust storm moved throught the area and it rained at the same time....very dirty!
With the strong north wind and cool temps I wussed out and ran 30 minutes on the treadmill. Still trying to run! Peace!

Catch up...

Seems to be the story of my life lately, playing catch up! Have you ever felt overwhelmed! So I ran 3 times this week and they were all very enjoyable. I have noticed my pace is strong and a little faster than norm...I credit hill training with the new found strength. I am so sick and tired of Winter!! Sure hope you are well!! Peace!

Caw ray Z!

Just 8 days ago it was record low temps....-10 degrees....and today it's 60ish and the frogs are out!! As I ran past a local pond I heard  an amazing chorus by the Frog Choir! I'm thinking they are heralding Spring!!! Hurray! I continue to try running. I feel like I've gone lukewarm....yet the desire to stay thin compels me!!:) 3.47 miles today in the glorious sunshine!! Have a great day!! Peace!

Scratching and clawing....

Yesterday managed another 5K on the roads....temps amazing! 70 degrees! I had to force myself out and was helped by your comments....one thing I did notice, my EZ pace is slightly faster than it had been...so the hill training is still paying dividends! Thanks! Peace!

It is safe to say "I'm struggling!"

I seem to have a barrier I'm dealing with....I get to a certain point in training and suddenly I go sedentary and lose everything! No excuses! I think I will just have to revert to a traditional schedule....the hills really made me strong but perhaps they sucked out all the life, too? There must be an intelligent balance and I'm often more brawn than brain when it comes to training. So today I just went real easy, funny, the pace was faster than normal easy? 3.2 miles in the 50 degrees! I will always keep running as a part of my life, we all deal with barriers, relational, physical, spiritual, etc, so I'm hopeful I can break through and get me some marathon this year! Peace!

Warm up!!

The weather has turned for the better!! The sun is out the temps are in the 40's and the snow is melting!!! I actually covered 4.5 miles on the roads today!!! I see a great week shaping up! Maybe I can get back on track?! I have lost a lot of ground over the last couple of weeks.....still able to run though!
Me and my Sweetheart have been planning our 30th wedding anniversary vacation. Nothing to write home about but just a get away....have you ever just been ready to get out of town? Life's pressures and stresses can take a toll even on the toughest, so a get away it is! It's not until the last of April but at least we can look forward to vacating! Hope all is well with you!!!

Winter is a cold word....

I do love where I live. We get to experience the four seasons on an annual basis! This Winter has been especially memorable. Lots of snow...more coming overnight! Real cold nights, and the usual swirling winds. Have you ever noticed how in Winter the wind always seems to stay in your face?
The one thing I like about Winter? It must mean Summer is coming! The daylight hours are lengthening and this is giving me a charge! I managed a short 5Ker today. Super cold and windy...a real wetness in the air if you know what I mean....smells like snow! They are predicting another 3-6 inches over night.
I got some new Kayanos..the 17's. I'm waiting for dryer ground before I wear them:).
I hope you are well! Peace!

What a week!

Lots of snow and ice! More than in the last several years. Sandy missed two days of work...it's really been a mad house in our community. People in panic mode and even fighting over milk in at the local  Wal-mart. There was an unbelievable fear..."Oh no! The blizzard of 2011! We're all gonna die!!" it's usually in the sedentary that panic...just an observation....I think we runners are more confident, and prepared, realizing we can endure a little hardship.
Well, a little sun+wind+snowplow+salt= clearing roads! Very enjoyable 4 miler today! It sounds like we've more significant snowfall coming next week...better get to Wal-mart!!:) Peace!

25,000 in

Today I reached a goal I thought never attainable. In our local running club, back in the 80's, were a couple of guys who had reach...
