Still here!!

Hello friends, sorry for the silence on the blogging front. I have been continuing to read your posts, though!
Good news, my ankle feels real good and I expect to begin running within the week. I'm going to aim for Little Rock's marathon in March. I am just allowing my body to rest and recover. I am not one of those amazing folks that can keep running without recovery.
Over the years I've noticed that I tend to lose desire to run after I've run a marathon. The let down only lasts for a while. The call of the roads, and the "runners rewards" will motivate me again.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Merry Christmas!! Peace (on earth)

Good news that your ankle is improving.

Like you, I also struggle with a lack of motivation after the marathon. This time of year certainly doesn't make it any easier - cold and dark all the time, not to mention BUSY with the holidays.

Looks like you have three months to get prepare for your next marathon. That's doable !!!

After I started running again and ran my first half-marathon, I was surprised at how my motivation dropped. I didn't start running to race and really enjoy running. Still, after focusing on the half for so long, the end of that was a bit of a let-down.

that seems to be a common syndrome, the lack of desire after a marathon. It must be the "I dont have to now so I won't" It'll come back to you, it always does

I feel ya. Something about having that goal really makes running easier. And hold us to the training.
