Pedagogic advancement

The term pedagogic generally refers to strategies of instruction-The study of being a teacher! I always encourage people to be learners, myself included! I am also a teacher. This profession runs in my family. My Grandpa was a Superintendent of schools, Grandma an art teacher, my Mom a special education teacher. There is definitely an art to teaching and it must be learned! How? For me, in regards to effective running, by experience. You all know I'm one of "those" now. Yes, the injured runner. However, I'm able to still run but not as much, as far, or as fast as I would like. So, what have I learned? What would I teach in regards to a semi-debilitating injury? For an old man like me (55), you can't be stubborn about resting. You will have to find alternative calorie burning exercises, you have to watch the caloric intake, you must keep the vision alive! I see myself "really" skinny! Breaking the (imaginary) tape at a marathon with the clock reading with a three as the first number. I will keep learning so I can keep teaching in all aspects of my life...you? 30 minutes today! Felt pretty good!:) Peace!

Being patient with injuries is very hard for me. I had to take 5 months off when I got injured after my first marathon and it was a pain, but I made it all the way back. I'm sure you will also and get that sub-4 in.

Good attitude, Mark. You're smart... a great runner and a great teacher AND learner. You'll bounce back!

I once interviewed a man about your age on a 5-mile run in -40 degree weather and he loved to use that word pedigogical. Your post reminded me of him.
