Super Sultry

Man it is hot!! Yes, I love Summer...and it is really hot and humid! Today took me forever to cool down from my run. I am able to successfully stay at base camp (30 min-5x per week) and I am beginning to see my strength and endurance come back. I have been clipping off some nice pace speeds, too. Very encouraging but I am still far from ready to train. Since I am so active...always doing something that requires energy expenditure, my Achilles is healing very slowly and still flares up. Yesterday I golfed 33 holes (it got dark) on top of running. BTW- I shoot my all time best round! 77 on a par 70 course. I was nailing the tee shot, had a couple over 300 yards! Yes...must brag about something!
Hope all is well with you! Peace!

33 holes! You must cover a lot of ground that that amount of golfing.

Glad you're doing well at base camp!

I know next to nothing about golf, but that seems pretty great :). Glad you're getting back in the groove, you'll be ready for training soon!

You sound so happy with the heat and your golfing...it's good to hear that all is well in your neck of the woods! YOU NEED to try the HR training...it's FUN and really interesting. If you like your ducks in a row, this is is!!

Sweet!! 33 holes in one day sounds glorious. And to drive 300 yards is amazing. Gee, can you tell I miss playing golf? Oh well...another year. Take care and keep running.

Mark,

Awesome Golfing!!! My best ever is an 87.

Speaking of Golf, just found out that the 2017 US Open will be held less than 1 hour from my home at Erin Hills. That and this years PGA Championships, the 2015 PGA Championships and the 2020 Ryder Cup all within 1 1/2 hours makes this area the possible new golfing Mecca. Also the 2012 US Women's Open too. That and they are all on Public Courses. Only one I have played though is the one hosting the US Women's Open, Black Wolf Run, very VERY nice course.

Would be fun to run these courses as well.

This is the most wonderful time of year! I love the heat and humidity! Yet I still get out earlier due to my advanced age! 4.4 miles! ...
