In a Funk

So I have hit a funk? Tired and unmotivated. Miles have fallen off....trying to regain the drive. I wonder if the colder weather has put me in a state of torpor? I feel sluggish, lethargic, and blah....not sick...just blah...you know..dull!
I finally had a decent run today. I actually knocked off some quality miles at decent pace. One mile was 8 min mile! That used to be my easy training pace. One thing I believe...you can get some of your speed back. Back in the day I was rail thin! I weighed in at 162lbs dripping wet. Now I'm stuck on 180! If I could regain that weight I would be happy!! Well, I've a busy weekend. Wedding rehearsal tonight, wedding tomorrow, Sunday will be very full as it is every week. I love what I do!! Peace!

Hey, Mark. I read this post yesterday and then was thinking about it this morning while I ran. I'm in the same place. 26-30 months ago, I was sailing along pretty nicely. Even 22 months or so back, I was fine (hard to compare because I moved from about 600' above sea level to 5700'). Then I got an injury and couldn't run. My weight shot up and I can't get below 190# — ideal BMI and running weight for me is 168-174#. I'm 2 years older, sure, but age alone should have a fairly small impact. I'm convinced it's the pounds that are weighing me down (sorry, pun intended — but I am serious).

This is the most wonderful time of year! I love the heat and humidity! Yet I still get out earlier due to my advanced age! 4.4 miles! ...
