Doin' it!

I am running an hour a day....the heat has been turned on here...that's how I like it! Slimming down and gearing up for some marathon training.
I've decided to just kind of "chill" on this next marathon. I will put in the training but I'm not putting any pressure on myself to achieve a goal besides finishing strong.
Saw two Copperheads on the road yesterday!! Ahh country roads! So exciting!
 Peace!

Lovin' it!

It is good to feel good! The achilles is still a little pest but for the most part I can run! I will reach 25 miles logged today! I hope to race this year! Maybe a 1/2 in the fall...hope you are well!

Update

I've put in five weeks of 20+ miles, still have the achilles burn but due to my own therapy regime it seems to be improving. Hope everyone of you is doing great!

Alive...yes!!!

I am still alive!! The Achillies heel has taken me down but not out....I have been walking and rowing....thus I am in great physical shape just not great running shape. The going is slow but in the famous words of the treminator..."I'll be back!"
  Merry Christmas!

Surge Week 2

I continue to increase one minute each run. I will do this for the first 4 days of the week. I did 40 minutes today. Tomorrow I plan on 41. then Friday is the slow easy run and Saturday the 2 mile time trial. I notched 20 miles last week, a perfect inaugural week to the SURGE. Looks like around 21-22 miles will be the total this week...I just keep it slow and steady. I'm watching my caloric intake and I fully expect to get lighter than ever! Goal weight: 165!!! Goal race: Run with The Wind-Feb 16, 2013, then I will run a race in Little Rock, a 10K, then a Marathon in Willard, Mo. I seem to be in pretty good shape in comparison to when I began last year. My weight is lower and I have been running consistently so I have great expectations! Peace!

Surge week 2

I continue to run every day but Sunday. Increase one minute first four days of the week, easy D on Friday and my 2 mile time trial tomorrow. I can feel the love handles going down!!! Feeling strong, commited, and devoted!
I promised my son I would run with him in a race next April, and I am shooting for a key race next Feb.
Hope all is well with you! Peace!

Surge

Surge-days 4 and 5 and 6- action must be taken! Saying and doing are entirely different beasts! Let your thinking move into action!
Day 4 is another added efffort-33 minutes-pushing the pace after a good warm-up
Day 5 is an easy, and I mean easy-you must be able to talk while jogging-no huffing and puffing. 35 minutes.
Day 6- either a walk or a hard effort-what is your body saying to you today? 2 miles easy or a 5K simulation?
Day 7-rest! Rest is an intregal part of any conditioning-whether physical or spiritual!

There is the physical what about the attitude? Be a person of action! Take action...move...do what you need to do! A chore, make a phone call, vacuum the carpet? Get with it! The vast majority of people live in the mediocrity of a status quo life!
Take action-have you written down three goals that you have? Do it! Get your mind on the goal and begin to act towards it...."as a man thinks so he is"
   Expect big results!!! Peace!
